So, 33 councils out of 34 declared, Liberal Democrats down just four seats. Not bad, not bad at all, I'd say. In places like Suffolk where the default position is to vote Conservative, we fought hard to hang on to everything we had and, where the Conservatives had to really work, they struggled, losing seats to us and to the Greens.
But, to save you looking it up, the missing result is Suffolk, where the ballot boxes in Chantry, one of the Ipswich divisions were sealed, and a recount ordered for Sunday evening. Chantry is a two-member ward, previously held by Labour, and I'm assuming that it is very tight indeed.
More news as we have it...
Sorry you didn't get elected Mark - shame!
ReplyDeleteCould you shed any light on why I can't find Ros's blog? Ive bookmarked it, but it doesn't seem to be there anymore.
No problems if she is having a break from Blogging - just wondered.
SDW,
ReplyDeleteMany thanks for your kindness, although I didn't deserve to win this time.
Unfortunately, Ros has closed down her blog, as noted in her recent report on Liberal Democrat Voice...
